
Chandigarh : Senior IAS officer, Secretary, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), and author Shashi Ranjan Kumar was in Bahrisons, Chandigarh yesterday for a signing event of his latest book The Decline of Hindu Civilization. During his visit, he interacted with renowned author and mentor Munish Jindal in an engaging exchange centred around books, governance, history and society. During the meeting, Munish Jindal presented his widely appreciated book Sadda Punjab to Shashi Ranjan Kumar, who in turn gifted his own work, The Decline of Hindu Civilization — a thought-provoking narrative on the accomplishments of an ancient civilization and its gradual descent into obscurity. Appreciating the work of Munish Jindal, the UPSC Secretary remarked that Sadda Punjab could serve as a “Gazetteer of Punjab” for researchers, readers and students seeking a comprehensive understanding of Punjab’s history, culture and socio-political landscape. Munish Jindal expressed gratitude for the encouragement and exchange of ideas, stating that interactions with distinguished personalities contributing both to public administration and literature are intellectually enriching and deeply motivating for young aspirants and readers alike.
