On the occasion of International Day of Older Persons on 1st October 2024. A State Level Conclave was organized by HP State Rural Livelihood Mission, Department of Rural Development at State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) Craignano, Mashobra A total of 140 senior self-help group members of Dev. block of Mashobra, Basantpur, Tutu, Rohru and including elderly CLF of Chopal participated in this conclave.
The objective of the conclave is to recognize the contribution of Senior Self Help Groups and celebrate them on this day for their happiness and dignity and to increase their income by providing them livelihood opportunities.
The anchoring of the event was conducted by Shri Hira Nand Shandilya Tutu, Secretary of Senior Self Help Group. Apart from this, Secretary of Senior Self Help Group Mashobra Shri Joginder Shandil Mashobra, Smt. Hemawati Pradhan Sarojini Self Help Group Tutu, Member of Gram Sangathan Dhabas-Chaupal Smt. Pushpa and Smt. Satya Sharma Executive Committee Member Cluster Level Federation Basantpur shared their experiences on the success of Self Help Group in the auditorium. Dr. Rajan Uppal given his views on the elderly health problem and solutions.
The main message of this conference is to provide a happy and dignified life to senior citizens by working on their health and livelihood through Self Help Groups. An exhibition of products manufactured by senior citizens, self-help groups was also organized on the occasion.
On this occasion, Mission Director, Shri Shivam Pratap Singh (IAS), Additional Director Smt. Neeraj Chandla State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) Craiganno Mashobra, Dr. Rajan Uppal, Joint Director Health & Family Welfare Department and Smt. Kalyani Gupta, Deputy Chief Executive Officer were present on the occasion.
