Sapling Plantation on World Environment Day- at Child Care Institution (CCI) namely Snehalaya by  Sh. Amandeep Singh Bhatti, PCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh and Sh. Akash Mittal, Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC), U.T. Chandgarh

Chandigarh, 05th June 2025, the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) celebrated ‘World Environment Day-2025’ at Child Care Institution (CCI) namely Snehalaya For Boys, Maloya, Chandigarh. The event witnessed Sapling Plantation.  Sh. Amandeep Singh Bhatti, PCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh and Sh. Akash Mittal, Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC), U.T. Chandigarh graced the occasion.

While speaking on the occasion, Ms.Shipra Bansal, Chairperson, CCPCR highlighted that World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated annually with an aim to create awareness & action for the protection of environment. Further she added that this year’s theme i.e. ‘Putting an End to Plastic Pollution’clearly focuses on the collective responsibility of citizens, organizations and governments to transition to renewable energy and build a sustainable future.  Further she emphasized to adopt Sustainable practiceslike planting trees, sensible use of natural resourcesavoiding Single-Use Plastics, recycling, reducing food wastewater Conservation etc and support the Nationwide ‘Mission LiFE Movement’ of Govt.of India. She also motivated the young minds to be an Environment Saver and make this planet a better place for all. Additionally a Pledge was taken by all the dignitaries along with children to end Plastic Pollution.

Mrs.Pooja Punchhi(Member,CCPCR) Sh.Sanjay Sharma(Member, CCPCR),Sh. Rajneesh Kumar(Member,CCPCR), Sh.Kartar Singh (Legal Consultant, CCPCR), Sh.Ravinder Nath (Empanelled Consultant, CCPCR),Mrs. Ankita (POCSO Consultant, CCPCR), Ms.Prabhdeep Kaur(DCPO), Mr. Lalit Arora(Resident Manager,Snehalaya),Mr.Shekhar(Clerk,CCPCR) and staff of the Commission along with CCI’s staff were present during this program.
