Jalandhar – The ongoing discussions over the film ‘Sutlej’ based on the life of Jaswant Singh Khalra have once again made the era of extremism in Punjab a part of public discourse. This opportunity provides us with an opportunity to understand this sensitive chapter of history with a balanced perspective, sensitivity and facts. The efforts made by Jaswant Singh Khalra to highlight the cases related to alleged illegal cremations and missing persons are an important part of Punjab’s history. Education expert Rajwinder Kaur said that the history of Punjab cannot be limited to any one perspective. We should respect every innocent victim, remember the sacrifices of the police and security forces and consider the values of justice and human rights as supreme. The identity of Punjab is not only associated with its struggles, but also with its courage, sacrifice, social harmony and the restoration of peace. It is our shared responsibility to accept every aspect of history with respect and convey the message of peace, justice and unity to the coming generations.
