
Two-day national conference on hernia concludes
Docs dwell on hernia surgery future through collaboration and innovations
Chandigarh, March 31: The two days, 4th bi-annual national hernia conference, Young HSICON 2026, concluded at a hotel here today with a resolve to shape the future of hernia surgery through collaboration, innovation, and shared expertise.
The conference was conducted under the banner of the Hernia Society of India in association with the Punjab Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India.
Dr. Anupam Goel, Organizing Chairman of this edition of conference gave insightful lecture on prosthesis in hernia surgery. He said that overall, the use of prosthesis has greatly improved surgical outcomes, leading to faster recovery, less postoperative pain, and lower recurrence rates.
Dr. Goel further said” With every edition, we have strengthened its academic value and outreach. Hosting the 4th bi-annual conference in Chandigarh was a matter of great pride, as we bring together some of the finest surgical minds from across the country.”
The conference was aimed to provide a dynamic platform for surgeons, both experienced and emerging, to exchange knowledge, discuss complex cases, and explore cutting-edge surgical technologies. The conference was expected to further elevate clinical practices and strengthen collaboration within the surgical community, Dr. Goel informed.
Our goal was to create a dynamic environment that showcases a comprehensive range of advanced surgical techniques alongside the latest breakthrough in medical products and technology, added Dr. Goel.
