
Transformed Kindergarten Education with Creativity and Dedication
Chandigarh, 8 September 2025: Talented educator Rashi Srivastava from Chandigarh has been honored with the ‘State Teachers Award 2025’. She received this prestigious honor from the Governor of Punjab & UT Administrator, Gulab Chand Katariya, during a ceremony organised by the Education Department on the occasion of Teacher’s Day at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh.
Serving as a teacher at St. Joseph Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, Rashi Srivastava is known for her creativity, innovation, and inclusive practices. She has been appointed as the ‘Innovation Ambassador of the Kindergarten Block’ by the school principal. Rashi prepares teaching materials using minimal resources and teaches children through play and activity-based methods. She also writes and composes educational poems and songs.
Rashi integrates digital tools to enrich the classroom environment. Her efforts in teaching children with special needs and promoting inclusive education are truly commendable. With her cheerful demeanor, creative teaching materials, and digital contributions, she has strengthened the foundation of early literacy and numeracy (FLN) among young learners. She plays a vital role in making education joyful and meaningful for children. For her exceptional contribution to education, she was also honored with the State Commendation Award 2024 last year.
On this occasion, Rashi expressed her gratitude, saying, “Teaching children is not just a profession for me, but a responsibility and a joy. I sincerely thank my parents, family, school management, coordinator Shimmi Jassal, and Principal Monika Chawla for their support in achieving this honor. I wish that every child learns with joy and grows while smiling.”
