I was happy to release the Permanent Pictorial Cancellation on Pandav Leni, Nashik, Customized My Stamp on Mulchand Shah and release Special Cover of World Trade Centre, Braille Script and Dak Seva e-Bicycle Expedition.

This remarkable event is not just a celebration of philately but also a fitting tribute to the 75th anniversary of our Republic Day.

I congratulate the Department of Posts, especially the Maharashtra Postal Circle, for its dedication and effort in organizing this State Level Philatelic Exhibition.

Sisters and brothers

The postal service has a unique place in the heart of the people of India. The department has touched the lives of millions of people of the country irrespective of distinctions like caste, creed, region, religion, educational qualification or economic status.

For almost 160 years, the Department of Posts has played a crucial role in the socio-economic development of the nation by providing communication and banking services to the people with a human touch.

We cannot forget that the humble postman not only delivered letters, he often read out those letters to ordinary people who could not read or write. The Money Orders and the Parcel that the postman delivered brought smiles on innumerable faces for several years.

We are proud of the fact that India has the largest Postal Network in the world of which almost 90 per cent are located in rural areas. This vast reach and penetration in rural areas, according to me, is the real strength of the department of posts. Through this extensive network, the Department of Posts can deliver essential social and economic services to citizens and businesses.

Over the years, the Postal department has evolved to meet the changing needs of society, offering a wide range of services that are integral to our daily lives.

From delivering letters and parcels to providing banking and insurance services, the Postal Department has remained a dependable partner for countless citizens.

The department has risen to the occasion in an era marked by e-commerce and digital transaction.

This adaptability and commitment to excellence have cemented its place as an indispensable part of our lives.

Mahapex 2025 is not just a festival of stamps. It is a exhibition of our rich history, culture and creativity.

I am delighted to know that the exhibition showcases 500 Philatelic frames, each telling a unique story.

The themes for each day such as History and Heritage, Flora, Fauna, and Biodiversity, Cultural Treasures of Maharashtra, and Science and Technology – is sure to attract people of different age group. They have been curated to educate and inspire all.

These themes not only highlight the richness of our cultural heritage but also underscore our contributions to the world of science and technology.

The significance of Mahapex 2025 extends beyond philately.

It underscores the Postal Department’s role in promoting education, culture, and community development.

I am confident that this exhibition will inspire participants to delve deeper into the past and look at our history and cultural heritage from a new perspective.

I am particularly delighted to know that various workshops have been organized as part of Mahapex 2025.

These workshops will be invaluable for students, teachers, and philatelists who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills.

Your effort to involve the children is extremely commendable. The inclusion of exciting activities for children, such as on-the-spot letter-writing competitions, quizzes, and puzzle-solving, is commendable.

With the arrival of Internet and Artificial Intelligence I am afraid children may ignore skills of writing and calculating.

Your activities will not only engage young minds but also foster curiosity and creativity, encouraging them to explore the many wonders of philately.

Mahapex 2025 is an opportunity to promote philately and encourage people to explore the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra.

It provides a platform to connect generations, educate young minds, and celebrate the artistry and history encapsulated in stamps.

The Indian Post has earned tremendous good will and trust from the people of India. This is an organisation that has maintained human touch with its services. I do feel that this goodwill should be maintained and Postal department should continue to play its role in transforming India into a ‘Viksit Bharat‘ by 2047.

Before I conclude, I once again congratulate the Maharashtra Postal Circle and particularly Chief Post Master General Shri Amitabh Singh ji for organizing this extraordinary exhibition and wish Mahapex 2025 great success.

Dhanyavad !
Jai Hind ! Jai Bharat ! Jai Maharashtra !!
