1008 desi ghee lamps will be lit by the devotees
Chandigarh: Gopashtami festival is being organized on November 9 at Maat Pita Godham Mahatirth, which is located on Banur-Ambala Road in Mohali district.
Gochar Gian Chand Walia, founder of Godham said that large number of people from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, Chandigarh and Delhi will participate in this program. The preparations for the event are going on in full swing. Special arrangements are being made for the people attending the program.
Speaking during a press conference here today, he said that during this period, cow worship will be done from 9 am to 10 am. Nandini Gau Mahayagya and Purnahuti will be held from 10am to 12pm. Sankirtan and praise of cow mothers will be held from 3pm to 7pm. The grand aarti of cow mothers will be held at seven o’clock in the evening. After that bhandara will be organized.
On this occasion, among others Godham president Amarjeet Bansal, Surnesh Singla, Kashmiri Lal Gupta, Maman Ram Garg, Lajpat Rai Garg, Subhash Agarwal, Deepak Mittal, Suresh Bansal, Subhash Singla, Pankaj Jaiswal, Kapil, Babu were present.
All India Gau Kathavak Shri Chandrakant, Gau Pracharak Acharya Sushil Mishra, International bhajan singer Sushma Sharma are participating in the program.
Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State will be chief guest during the occasion. Special guest will be Dr. Govind Ji Kale, Dr. Divya Gupta Independent Director of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and Devashish Nilos the former Indian cricketer.

During the Gopashtami celebrations, 1008 desi ghee lamps will be lit by the devotees. On this occasion, the entire Gaushala pilgrimage area of Nandini Mata will be illuminated like Diwali. The special thing about the Maat Pita Mahatirth Temple is that its identity has been established globally. In the World Record Book (London), the Maat Pita Godham Mahatirth Temple has been given the status of being the only temple in the world, which does not have the idol of any God in the temple, but here parents are worshipped like god.

Sharing his thoughts on this occasion, Gian Chand Walia said that the Maat Pita Godham Mahatirth is developing as a spiritual center today. In this pilgrimage site, alongside the education to love cow mothers, the message of respecting parents is being also given. These messages are the biggest need of the hour today as with this, we can save our culture, he opined.
