Chandigarh: Max Hospital Mohali on Monday showcased its advanced AI and 3D technology in knee replacement surgery.
Talking to the media, Dr. Tarandeep Singh Gill, director–ortho & joint replacement at Max Hospital, Mohali, said that we have completed 100 AI-assisted knee replacement surgeries.
AI enables us to achieve a level of precision that was previously not possible, leading to better functional outcomes and faster recovery, he said.
This technology-driven approach is enhancing surgical precision, improving patient outcomes, and enabling faster recovery, said Dr Gill.
Dr Gill further informed that the AI-assisted system utilizes advanced imaging and data analytics to create a highly personalized surgical plan for each patient. By mapping the patient’s unique anatomy in detail, the technology helps surgeons achieve optimal implant positioning, precise alignment, and accurate soft tissue balancing—key determinants of long-term success in knee replacement procedures.
Unlike conventional techniques, AI-enabled surgery provides real-time intraoperative guidance, allowing surgeons to make highly informed decisions during the procedure, he explained.
This results in greater consistency, improved implant longevity, reduced post-operative discomfort, and quicker rehabilitation, significantly enhancing overall patient satisfaction, said Dr Gill.
With innovations like AI and 3D-assisted surgery, we are redefining joint replacement by making procedures safer, more accurate, and tailored to individual patient needs, Dr Gill asserted.
