
February 4: As many as 50 attend a cancer screening camp at Alchemist Hospital Panchkula on Tuesday to mark World Cancer Day. During the occasion, awareness talk to educate on cancer prevention, its early detection and timely treatment on Tuesday.
During the camp, the hospital’s specialized cancer team provided free medical and surgical consultations.
The key highlight of the event was the free mammography screening, which helped many women detect breast cancer at an early stage.
This initiative was part of the hospital’s ongoing commitment to spreading cancer awareness and ensuring early diagnosis, which can significantly improve treatment outcomes.
During the talk, Dr. Mukesh Bansal medical oncologist emphasized the importance of regular check-ups and lifestyle modifications.
He said, “Early detection is crucial in the fight against cancer. Regular screenings, a healthy diet, and avoiding tobacco can significantly reduce the risk of various types of cancer.”
Dr. Munish Mahajan, surgical oncologist highlighted the role of advanced surgical interventions and timely medical care.
He said, “With advancements in medical science, many types of cancer can be cured if detected in the early stages. Our goal is to educate people on recognizing early symptoms and seeking medical consultation without delay.”
